Well known singer and song-writer, Billy Ray Cyrus, stars in this five-season hit drama/medical television series, that aired from 2001-2004. He plays the character of “Dr. Clint (Doc) Cassidy,” who is a Montana doctor that decides to take a position at a New York City medical clinic. All episodes were shot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; although depicted in N.Y. City.

As a Christian bachelor from the mountains of Montana, “Doc” carries his ideology and small-town values with him to his new job; which seems others in this environment are lacking. Other major characters in Doc include: Nurse Nancy Nicholas (Andrea C. Robinson), Dr. Derek Hebert (Derek McGrath), Donna Dewitt (Ruth Marshall), Tippy Williams (Paula Boudreau), and Dr. Oliver Crane (Ron Lea).

Originally aired on PAX TV, “Doc” has also aired on Ion Television, Gospel Music Channel, The Hallmark Channel, and BYUtv throughout its career. Unfortunately, there is no current evidence of “Doc” airing on television; however, that’s why we all love the internet! You can watch “Doc” online, anytime. One major reaction from fans was how family-friendly and inspirational the series was. It made a great family movie night, and restored the hope of series as appropriate as this one.
